Recent Funding Support

BDEA is extremely grateful for the generous support from individuals, foundations, and the state, who make our unique approach to high quality, experiential education possible. The following grants were received, supporting important initiatives and programs:

From The Boston Women's Fund and the John W. Alden Trust, support for BDEA's Ladies FIRST program, an initiative teaching leadership, community and health to the young women of BDEA.

From The Boston Foundation, support for BDEA's Alumni Office, strengthening our relationships with our alumni, creating opportunities for involvement in the school, and collecting helpful data on the effectiveness of our program.

From The Boston Foundation, support to enhance our collateral materials, reaching more families, friends, educators, and supporters in 3 languages.

From Jordan Fundamentals, support for Humanities program "Voicing What Matters", which includes a student leadership team, cultural exchange with Hudson High School, a student and faculty literary magazine, and regular coffeehouses for community members to perform and discuss original and favorite works.

From Jordan Fundamentals, support for the project DownDudley.com, in which students design websites for local businesses, engaging the community, and learning hands-on skills.

From the MA Cultural Council, support to continue a sculpture project entitled Walking with Memories: an arts and humanities program where students create writings and art about  their lives and events that shape them.

From the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in partnership with Serve and Learn America, support for integrating service learning activities into BDEA's curriculum such as research on social issues for Symposium, working to create health and wellness awareness, and working in BDEA's organic garden, sharing lessons of sustainable agriculture and healthy nutrition with the community.
