Family Center

Mission

The mission of the Family Center is to connect parents, guardians, and family members with all aspects of their child's education, including academic, enrichment, and emotional growth. The center also  gives BDEA the opportunity to receive input and feedback from parents through parent events, conferences with faculty, and the Parent Council that meets monthly and is involved in decision-making, and creating resources for families to connect with and support their children, at BDEA and in their academic lives after graduation.

Parent Council

"The caring adults in a young person's life not only need to equip themselves with the many resources available but also open their minds and hearts to what's the best situation for their young person's skills, learning style, and needs." Maria Cabrera, member, BDEA Parent Council

The Parent Council is comprised of parents who meet monthly to discuss issues affecting parents of BDEA students. Among their activities, the Parent Council provides outreach and resources to the BDEA parent community, as well as support for current BDEA parents, and parents of BDEA alumni who are now enrolled in college or in careers.

The council meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. The remainder of the meetings for this year will take place on April 14, May 12, and June 9.
