Nastasia Lawton

Bio: 

Nastasia joined BDEA in 2006. Her work at BDEA includes Alumni outreach, volunteer coordinating, fundraising and grantwriting, publications, and school events. She also serves as the grants coordinator for Title I and entitlement grants from the MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Nastasia works with her colleagues in the Office of Institutional Advancement and the rest of the school to promote the mission of BDEA in the greater context of national school reform and alternative education. She was a co-presenter of a workshop entitled "Getting the Word Out: Advancing the Message of School Reform" at the Coalition of Essential Schools National Fall Forum. Her previous work includes teaching high school Spanish in Worcester, MA. She is passionate about education and promoting alternative, equitable, and high-quality opportunities for young people. Nastasia holds a B.A. in Spanish and an M.A. in Teaching both from Clark University. She is currently earning a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Simmons College.
