Emilys Pena

Emilys is in her first year as Assistant Head of School and comes to BDEA with a diverse background in education and non-profit work. Previously, she was the Assistant Director of the International Charter School in Pawtucket, RI. Emilys has also held positions at many schools and organizations in the Boston area, including Assistant Headmaster for Curriculum and Instruction at Boston High School, Literacy Specialist at the Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Dorchester, and Bilingual Special Needs Teacher at the Sarah Greenwood Two-way Bilingual School in Dorchester, MA. She believes in working collaboratively with students, doing whatever it takes to give them the tools and resources to succeed. Emilys holds an EdM in International Education; Language and Literacy from Harvard University, and a BA in Deaf Education from the University of Michigan.
