Lisa Onsum
Lisa joined the Science Department in August 2009. She comes from the Boston Teacher Residency Program, where she taught biology at the Community Academy of Science and Health – Hyde Park Education Complex. Previously, Lisa had a career in nutrition, serving at Brigham and Women’s Hospital developing and implementing nutrition care plans for patients in treatment for cancer. She is certified as a registered dietician through New York Presbyterian Hospital. Lisa strives to provide her students with real-life applications of science, and her students recently completed a study of the major nutrients on food labels. Lisa holds a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences/Dietetics from the University of California at Berkley and an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston.
