Bio: 

Amy joined BDEA in 2005. Before joining the Evening Humanities department, Amy taught 9th grade Humanities in the Bronx, NY. Amy's classes build student's reading and writing skills, as well as the ability to look at literature on a deep level, learning how they can gain from, and contribute to the existing cannon of written work. Amy is currently preparing a group of students to contribute to the Poetry Out Loud contest, a poetry recitation contest that begins on the schoolwide level and culminates in a national competition for high school students. Amy is a 2010 M.F.A. candidate in Creative Writing at the University of Southern Maine. She also holds a double B.A. in English from William Smith College, and an M.A. in Secondary English Education from City College of New York.
