Exciting College Scholarship Opportunities for BDEA Alumni

Coca-Cola Two-year Colleges Scholarship Program

Applicants may be either first or second year students, planning to
continue their education at a two-year institution.

Qualifications
Applicants must be:

  • U.S. Citizens or permanent residents;
  • Carrying a minimum 2.5 GPA at time of application
  • Able to document a minimum 100 hours of community service in the
    twelve months prior to application
  • Planning to enroll in at least two courses during the next term in two-year degree grantin g institution

 Application Requirements Include:

  • Grade point average (include copy of transcript)
  • Documentation of community service activities
  • Essay on the topic: The Value Of An Education: My Future

Applications can be downloaded from www.coca-colascholars.org. Typically, there is an early May deadline by which all materials must be submitted to the Dean of Students Office, Building 27, 2nd Floor, with a cover letter indicating Coca–Cola Scholarship Application


Community College Transfer Scholarship Program

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Be enrolled part-time or full-time at a community college
  • Have plans to transfer and enroll full-time in a degree-seeking program at a four-year U.S.-accredited institution in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands in the upcoming academic year

General eligibility requirements for this and other HSF scholarships are:

  • Be of Hispanic heritage
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired)
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Must have applied for federal financial aid

Typically, applications for fall awards are available on line early the previous October with a late January deadline.

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The Jack Kent Cook Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program is open to students who currently attend a community college or two-year institution located in the United States and plan to transfer to a four-year college or university for the Fall term. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation will award scholarships in the spring for use beginning in the Fall term of the next academic year.

The award will provide funding for tuition, room and board, required fees, and books for the remainder of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar\'s undergraduate degree. Award amounts will vary for each recipient based on the institution he or she attends. Awards cannot exceed $30,000 annually. Scholarship monies not used during one academic year are not transferable to the succeeding academic year. The scholarship is renewable for each year of undergraduate study if the Scholar continues to meet the program\'s requirements.

The Foundation awards up to 30 Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships for community college transfer students. The number of scholarships awarded will depend on the number and qualifications of the nominees.

Conditions of Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for a Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship, a nominee must:

  • Be attending a community college or two-year institution located in the United States that is fully licensed and/or accredited
  • Have completed freshman year credits by December
  • Have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  • Be transferring to an accredited four-year institution for the Fall term

Nomination Procedures:
All candidates for scholarships must be nominated by their community college or two-year institution. Application packets can be picked up at the Dean of Student Services office, Building 27, 2nd Floor. All applications must be returned to the Dean of Student Services Office by the end of the Fall semester.
