The Electric Power/Utility Technology Program

The Electric Power/Utility Technology Program (EPUT) is an innovative new full-time program that simultaneously provides students (prospective Electric employees) with an A.S. degree and a work experience which is tied directly to a job offer upon successful completion of the program. EPUT is a partnership between Bunker Hill Community College, NSTAR, UWUA Local 369 and the Greater Boston Tech-Prep Consortium. It prepares qualified individuals for the large number of open positions for overhead line workers (those utility employees who construct and maintain overhead power lines). It is one of only a handful of degree level programs of this kind in the nation.

If you're concerned about the entry exam, there's an excellent prep course with a December 2006 application deadline. (Ask Ms. Samp.)

Information sessions for applying for entry into next Septembers class (4th group) will be held on February 6, 2007, from 6pm - 8pm in room E175 at BHCC's Charlestown Campus. Both NSTAR and BHCC representatives will be on hand to answer all your questions and provide application materials and instructions.

For more information about the program, call Ms. Samp at 617.635.6789 ext. 120 or call David Dow at the BHCC Advising and Counseling Center at 617.228.2230

Need help planning your future? Feel free to make an appointment with Ms. Samp: msamp@boston.k12.ma.us or call 617-635-6789 ext. 120
