BDEA Seminar

Seminar is the first class you will take when you enter BDEA as a student. For day students, Seminar is a full trimester course, including classes in Humanities/English Language Arts, Math, and Science. You will remain with the same “cohort” or group of students for twelve weeks while you learn about the school and why BDEA, an “alternative” high school, is different from any other school you  have attended.

Seminar gives you a chance to get to know your teachers, learn about school practices and celebrations, and introduces you to non-academic departments like Post-graduate Planning and Enrichment activities like photography and cooking. You will participate in Symposium along with the rest of the school, and will be able to assess against benchmarks at the end of your first Trimester.

Evening students also take part in Seminar orientation for a full week before moving on to their individual classes.
