Meg Maccini, Head of School Meg Maccini was appointed Head of School at The Boston Evening Academy on July 1, 2002. Prior to her appointment, she served as the Acting Headmaster from July 2001 and Associate Director of BEA for four years. Since 1988, Ms. Maccini has been devoted to public education and has held various positions in rural, suburban and urban schools in New York and Massachusetts. She has been a teacher of Social Studies, History and Humanities, a Director of Development, an educational consultant and a Coordinator of Academic Programs. Before her employment at BEA, Ms. Maccini worked as the Senior Institute Coordinator and Senior Humanities teacher at the Fenway Pilot High School. Ms. Maccini also worked as the Director of Development at Fenway Pilot High School and as a consultant for the Center for Collaborative Education, Metro Boston. Ms. Maccini holds advanced degrees from Harvard University and Simmons College and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, History and Latin American Studies from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is a credentialed educator in both Massachusetts and New York. She is committed to the small schools and whole school reform movements and has been an active participant in the Coalition of Essential Schools network and in the Annenberg Institute of School Reform.
